The organising Committee are happy to announce that Ralph Hultgren is also adjudicating at the Championships.
The Tasmanian Bands League invites you to attend the 2010 Yamaha Australian National Band Championships in Hobart, Tasmania, April 2nd - 5th, 2010. The Tasmanian Bands League, in conjunction with the National Band Council of Australia are hosting the 2010 Yamaha Australian National Band Championships in Hobart, Tasmania from the 2nd until the 5th of April 2010. All bands are invited to attend the championships in one of Australia's oldest and most beautiful cities.

GALA CONCERT

Sunday 4th April - 8:00pm
The Gala Concert is the culmination of the Band events of the National Championships, which is the Premier Competition of Australian and Regional bands. The concert will feature two of Tasmania's premier bands, Glenorchy "A" Grade City Concert Brass and Hobart "A" Grade Wind Symphony, as well as a guest band from Bangkok, Thailand - the renowned Mahidol University Senior Wind Symphony, who will perform under the direction of their Director Dr Christopher Hughes.
Johan de Meij (Netherlands), our Chief Adjudicator for the championships and a noted composer, will conduct his Symphony No. 1, "Lord of the Rings", with the Hobart Wind Symphony, as well as conducting one piece with the Mahidol Band. This will be a concert not to be missed by anyone who is involved with the banding movement or who just likes good music.
With almost 5000 participants being in Hobart for the National Championships the Federation Concert Hall's capacity of 1200 seats are going to sell quickly.
We recommend early reservations be made through the TSO Box Office - to avoid disappointment!
